July 9, 2001 - The Department of Health and Human Services has issued a document which answers common questions and clarifies information about the privacy regulations. The document can be reviewed at http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/. A fact sheet summarizing the privacy rule's rights and protections is also available at http://aspe.os.dhhs.gov/admnsimp/bannerps.htm.

Business Associate Agreement: Customers must enter into a Business Associate Agreement with DataRx. This agreement establishes DataRx as the “Business Associate” and you our customer as the “Covered Entity”. The agreement sets forth our joint commitment to comply with the Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information under the HIPAA of 1966, CFR 45 Part 160 and 164, Subparts A and E. Please print, complete, sign and return to DataRx Management two copies of the agreement. Once these documents are countersigned a fully executed original will be returned to your attention.
